Bluegrass innovator and Bowling Green native Sam Bush was celebrated in his hometown by HearBG, a committee of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce dedicated to supporting Bowling Green’s rich music and arts heritage.

HearBG hosted the organization’s inaugural event, a screening of “Revival: The Sam Bush Story,” at the historic Capitol Arts Center on Friday, September 11, 2015.

Preceding the film was an exhibit in the Houchens Gallery examining the rich history of music and arts in Bowling Green, along with a live performance by David Roemer and the Alley Cats. Following the screening, the “father of Newgrass” and the film’s producers engaged attendees in a Q&A.

All proceeds from the event were applied to furthering the celebration and awareness of Bowling Green’s rich music history and promoting the future of musical greatness in the area.
